What can you do?
by: Doc

I am noticing a trend in which people want to know about how to get on with companies overseas but don't list what they are qualified at.
Your not the Lone Ranger though, lot's of people have questions, but those who may have answers aren't going to play email tag trying to help you out. The top 4 companies I direct people to are ITT (But their system is so overloaded now that it takes forever for their jobs to come up), KBR (Which had in 2008 about 1/2 of a million applications for jobs pending) Dyncorp (You had better be a genious regarding electronics) and Fluor (Lots of Food service and construction positions).
So you see, as people look around and they come across your post, if you had something that would trigger a response like "Hey, I was just on KBR's site and they listed 50 positions for Truck Driver!", they would probably be inclind to pass along that info to you and others.
But, to begin, you will need;
1- A U.S. Passport or be able to aquire one,(The Passport may wave the requirement for a Birth Certificate, but you'll need to ask the company to which you apply).
2- Able to be cleared in a background check, no arrests.
3- No back Child support.
4- Able to pass a health screen.
5-Usually 1-6 years experience depending on the job.
If you can clear those 5 points, the rest is small potatoes..... Like having a valid drivers license.... (Yeah, you'll probably want one of those as most bases you go to may put you behind the wheel of an SUV while on base).
Good luck.

How to Get Started
by: Alan

Hi James,

If you are looking at the position on this site (or anywhere) you'll see a place where you can respond back to that particular company. On this site, once you click on a position that you're interested in you'll see a link titled "view or apply to job". Here you have the opportunity to apply directly for the position. You can do this with numerous positions which will link you to the various employers seeking help in the Middle East.

What I recommend is that you take a look at the link below which lists how to find jobs in Afghanistan but is applicable to any job in the Middle East. Follow the guidelines and let me know what you think, as I am always looking for suggestions to improve things.

I hope this helps.
