by JOHN STRATIGOS
(CLEARWATER FL)

HELLO MY NAME IS JOHN AND WANTED TO KNOW CAN A PERSON THAT HAS NO SKILLS GO OVER TO A FOREIGN COUNTRY AND MAKE $80,000 A YEAR? LETS SAY AS A GENERAL LABORER, SEE I REMEMBER IN THE EARLY 90S WHEN I SAW IRAQ PAYING 250,000 FOR GENERAL LABORERS. I GUESS I WANT TO KNOW IS THEIR ANY OPPORTUNITY FOR A GUY LIKE ME WHO IS UNSKILLED TO MAKE MORE THAN 20HR OVERSEAS? AND HOW DO I GO ABOUT APPLYING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS? DO I ASK THE ARMY? WILL I BE CONTACTED WITH INFO TO MY QUESTION? I REALLY WANT TO KNOW

John,
Right know with all of the Combat troops leaving Iraq and many Jobs in Afghanistan being held on to it's a tough time. KBR is down to a skeleton force as the Military has moved out of the big Cities to FOB's (Forward Operating Bases). You can still search company directories like Fluor, Dyncorp, ITT, Ratheon, KBR and the like. Apply for jobs like "Laboror Foreman" you'll be in charge of a bunch of kids picking up garbage, but it's a start. Billeting, Post Office and as you said General Laboror, but be advised; In 2007 KBR had around 500,000 applications just for Truck Drivers.
God Luck.
