In Remembrance - 18 Aug 2010
Today a fallen hero was returned home. Pfc. Paul Cuzzupe, a 23 year old Army medic from Sefner, Florida was killed in an explosion in Afghanistan on Aug 8.
The body was flown to MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida and ceremoniously
unloaded from the aircraft.
In a full military procession the body was escorted to the Hillsborough Funeral Home in Brandon.
The procession was led by 24 motorcycles from the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Dept, the Tampa Police Department and patrol vehicles from the Air Force Security Forces.
Paul Cuzzupe
For those of us that work on Macdill AFB, hundreds of military and civilians alike lined the streets to pay our last respects to this hero.
All members of the four services were in attendance in
addition to coalition partners from the United Kingdom, Australia and
other nations.
It was an emotional event for many and we were proud to pay our
respects.
May God Bless him and his family for the sacrifice that Pfc. Cuzzupe
made for us all.
The ultimate selfless act of laying down one's life will always be remembered in the hearts of those of us that are left here to go on.
