Dear Des,
Being a "Joiner" is such a specialized vocation it will be tough to find any positions which are contracted through any Company with a "Logcap" bid. There are positions for Carpenters and Construction in the "Logcap" chain, but my best suggestion would be to apply as a Carpenter then show what you can do as a Joiner when you get there.
I knew one man who was hired as a Labor Foreman who's Hobby was Carpentery and he spent over 1 year making wooden walk way's around the Transportation Bldg's.
In today's economy, you get over there any way you can.
