i am a joinery contractor based in northern ireland. my brother is my only employee and we have talked and decided to go and work in the middle east. i am finding it hard to locate jobs.is there any work out there at the moment? if so what sort of rate of pay is there? who do you contact for jobs? is it possible to work on a 4 week on and 1 week of policy? i have security. could you help

Dear David,
Work in the Middle East with most companies is 7 days a week based on a 12 hour day. Every 4 months an employee receives 8 paid days off, (in some cases you will be able to take as much as 21 days off, but it would need to be a family emergency, with 15 days R&R being the norm) with the company generally paying up to $860.00 of the Air Fare, any more and the Employee is going to pay it out of their own pocket.
After 1 year most workers will take 30 days R&R to travel home, but understand, any more than 30 days home in a 365 day period will risk ones Tax Free status (I use 30 days as the "Safe Zone" as I know for a fact you can go home for that amount of time and not risk you TFP... Tax Free Pay). I am unaware as to the Tax codes of Northern Ireland, but in the U.S. an employee can make upwards of 85 or 86 Thousand Dollars without having to pay tax, which allows a worker to pocket about 20-30 Thousand more than they would in the States. (That is savings including Tax, Food, Lodging, Auto Fuel/Insurance, Etc.)
Fluor has only 1 Carpenter job in Afghanistan, but there may be more soon, so keep checking. The following was from their site;
