living in kuwait

by Ivan
(Texas)

I'm currently getting ready to head to Kuwait and will be working at the airbase. I'm working for L-3 communications. Do you have any idea what the living
conditions and accommodation's are like?

Living in Kuwait
by: Alan

Hello Ivan,

First of all, congratulations on your new job. I'm assuming that you'll be working at Ali Al Salem Air Base? Anyway, you may be living on post or downtown. If you're living on the base then you would probably live in one of the trailers set up for the workers or transient workers/troops. However, I believe that most live off base in Kuwait City. Depending on your contract and what it provides, you'll either have your own apartment or share one with another individual. A friend of mine worked on Camp Arifjan and had a very nice apartment in the city. You'll also be provided a vehicle to travel back and forth. This should have already been explained to you. Kuwait City is a beautiful modern city. I've passed through it a few times.

Let me know if you have any additional questions
