SF 85P

I have been offered a job and am looking over the SF85P. I had some financial difficulties with my contracting company as recently as 3 months ago and I was wondering how this would affect my background check? I am being completely honest on all the questions but this concerns me.

SF85P

Anthony,

I pulled this out of a blog concerning a similar question.

"The SF85P is a security trust and not to be confused with the SF86P which is the application for security clearance--actually the SF85P is for getting your CAC card–which the military issues. Again, just be honest. I think you will find there are a number of contractors working overseas that were former business owners--thanks to the down turn of the economy. Best of luck."

The Common Access Card (CAC) is your ID card, which gets around the posts and allows you to eat, shop, etc.. If you get this far you should be okay.
