If you want High Steel, check into Dubai. They are about 80 Billion Dollars in debt right now but still building. Beware though, many companies will fly you over then charge you for the flight out of your first couple checks, or they will forget to pay you all together. If it is a U.S. contractor you will have some recourse, but remember, many U.S. companies have moved their headquarters overseas to Dubai.
I've been going through the job list's for Electricians and welders for Logcap lV, but there just doesn't seem to be any right now. Many companies with military contracts seem to be "Holding" with the people they have hired, but even KBR which has lost a substancial portion of their contracts has surprised us by continuing to hire. My buddy Jose' is talking to a recruiter with KBR even now regarding his return to Iraq.
So just because the company doesn't have a current listing for the job you want, doesn't mean it won't be listed next week. Go ahead, apply.
