Actually TESOL in the Middle East are the most lucrative jobs, requiring usally an MA in TESOL ofr Applied Linguistics. One may start at 50k a year with free housing and zero tax withheld. Search Dave's ESL cafe board for more info on it.

Teaching English in other countries is not a money making proposition. For the most part, people sign up for these courses in order to help offset their expenses while in another country. These are great programs for graduates who wish to immerse themselves in another culture, however, as said previously, not a lot of money for the work.
Some people upon graduation have landed jobs with the State Department Teaching American Students who's family live abroad as a result of Political positions, but those Teaching jobs have more to do with History, Science, etc..
You may still wish to contact the State Dept. and inquire as to the need for instructors in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the Arab Emirates (Dubai) for private tutors which may be very profitable.
Good luck.
