Wages and etc

Doc,

I hear that you are the man to talk to regarding overseas positions. Are you able to post employer names, contact names, and any and e-mail addresses where I can submit my resumes?

I personally am interested in a non technical position in Afghanistan and would like to expedite the process.

It depends.

Wages are different from one company to another, so for me to say "Oh, well you'd make "X" amount would be pulling a number out of the air.
Fluor pays a higher amount of the Government "Uplift" which would be around 80%.
"Uplift" is an amount which includes Location and Hazard incentives. KBR paid incentives for working outside the wire as a Convoy Truck Driver far below 80%. Iraq Location and Hazard uplift came out to around $3000.00 per month. The Driver also made an hourly wage on top of that. Averaging 80-100 hours a week (7 day weeks)a Driver made around 7-$8000.00 a month. Labor Foremen made less as they were inside the wire and therefore incurred less risk.
Fluor in Afghanistan, however, with the higher uplift can gross a Driver up to $118,000 a year,.. Or so I've been told. Afghanistan has no outside the wire jobs that I have heard of as yet.
The company you want to work for will have better "Uplift", Medical, a 6 day work week and overtime pay. It may sound like I just spent 5 minutes saying nothing, but I can only tell you what I know, and I know this "You don't pay taxes if you stay outside the Continental U.S. for a total of 335 days in a 365 day period up to $85,000. After that it's like working back in the States,... If you make $100,000 taxes are paid on $15,000 of it.
Hope this helped a little.
Good luck.
